My boss always tells me that when I gush over the hot male celebrities that I say we need to cast in our new movies coming out. He laughs at me because they are too busy and they ask for way too much money to be in movies. Although, he might be getting someone I adore in our new movie The Mystery of Casa Matusita. I told him I'd deliver flowers or whatever to the actor's house to convince him to take the role, and again, he laughed at me and told me to work on something else.
I feel like I haven't filled you all in on what exactly I'm doing at Prospect House Entertainment. Being an administrative intern, my duties vary across the board. I make spread sheets to figure out shows to air commercials on, answer phones, help post information and articles on the company Facebook page, research projects we're working on, reading scripts, etc. It's really cool being hands-on with all the projects we have going on. I help around with everyone around the office when they need it. Even if it's something small, it takes some stress off of them so they can focus on the super important tasks.
I LOVE who I work with. There's just a great workflow in the place and everyone has been so welcoming. Tegan, the CEO of PHE, wants me to come back after graduating college and work full-time with them. YAY! He says a spot will be waiting for me, so that's really exciting if I want to continue work with them in the near future! He offers to buy me lunch, and really, anything to help me out. He's offered to buy my books for college and sponsor me... It's awesome that he is offering all of this to me. I feel appreciated and way more than just a random intern in the office.
We have two divisions in the company, Prospect House Entertainment (PHE) and Prospect House Media (PHM). PHE deals with movie production. PHM is the marketing side of the company that pitches to businesses and makes commercials. Even with amount of employees we have now, PHM still needs more employees under its belt, so we've been on the search for new people to keep adding. It's all about growth in a company! We have two divisions that need equal attention, so we need the same amount of eyes on each side of things.
The same goes for any growing company in the industry! Take FX for example: They just promoted 5 senior marketing executives for their growing divisions. Their divisions now include cabler FX, FXX and FXM and the digital FXNow service. They have a lot on their plate and needed more authority and leadership in the company.
