I'm being serious, actually. As I mentioned in my previous internship post, I intern with the company Prospect House Entertainment. We have a sub-company under that called Prospect House Media. For Prospect House Media, we focus on commercials for many different types of businesses. On Friday, June 19, I went to a commercial shoot for LA Dogworks (think like a dog hotel). I got to play with cute dogs and puppies all day! They have so many play areas, grooming sites, and comfy beds for the dogs. If they are in their little room during the day or at nighttime, the employees play Disney movies for them...not kidding. The pups are spoiled for sure! So we were filming a part of the commercial where a customer needed to walk into the store and go to the front desk. The owner wanted a specific person to be in the commercial, but last minute, they couldn't make it. So guess who was the replacement role? ME, that's right! Of course I come to work hair, makeup, and cute outfit ready. You should always be dressed to impress. Sometimes, it can pay off for you to be in a commercial! How awesome is that?! I was ecstatic to be able to jump into the role. Things like this happen in the movie making business, too. My most recent (and bitter) memory was with the Twilight series. There was an evil vampire named Victoria set out to kill Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart's character). In the first two movies, Victoria was played by Rachelle Lefevre. She was gorgeous and I loved her for the part. After a few scheduling conflicts, Rachelle was replaced by Bryce Dallas Howard. I hated her in the role, it wasn't the same! This also happened in the past few days in the television world, too. The ABC Family Show The Fosters has been airing for 2 seasons. Jake T. Austin (previously in Disney's Wizards of Waverly Place) played the role of Jesus on The Fosters. He announced his departure from the show a several weeks ago, and it was announced today that he was finally replaced by Noah Centineo, who will be playing the exact same role as Jake T. Austin did. It's strange for us audiences, but it happens! Always be open to opportunities heading your way. I had 2 seconds to decide if I wanted to actually take the role in the LA Dogworks commercial or not, but ultimately I did. It was a fun experience helping film for the commercial behind the scenes, be in the commercial, and be around cute dogs all day! I have included a link to the article from Variety.com about Jake T. Austin's departure from The Fosters, and am also leaving you with a picture of the adorableness I worked with this past Friday!
