"You can learn a lot of things from the flowers
For especially in the month of June
There's a wealth of happiness and romance
All in the golden afternoon"

Remember that catchy tune from Alice in Wonderland when Alice is shrunk down to the size of an insect? I sure do. I feel like singing "The Golden Afternoon" song every day in California. Every day just feels like a golden afternoon! No matter what I do, I feel like little flowers are singing in my head at how happy I am to be doing something new every day. This past week has been nothing short of exciting. I kept going and going and going. I'm not complaining, though. I went to fun events, met some famous people, and had the time of my life. I thought that I would be done finding places and things to see by now, but I've hardly made a dent in the "LA Bucket List"! Here's a look into my many "golden afternoons" from this past week:

One night, a couple of girls tried out Fat Sal's, a place where you can get all your food in one sandwich. Yes, my sandwich had buffalo chicken, ranch, fries, and cheese sticks all wrapped up in it. You heard me. It felt so disgusting to eat, but yet, it was SO good. In the middle of the week, a couple of girls went to The Grove LA. It's a beautiful shopping area with lots to do and eat. We ate at Marmalade Cafe and I had one of the best chicken parmesans ever! Wednesday night, most of the Grady LA group went out to celebrate one of the girl's birthdays at a Karaoke Bar. We had our own private room and had the best time singing along to all of our favorite songs.

What a highlight of my trip so far! 1iota is a website that gives out free tickets to shows, such as Jimmy Kimmel, Live with Kelly and Michael, and many others. They have given me access to a Jimmy Kimmel show, the Jordin Sparks concert I went to, and now the Fandom Awards! They were looking for "30 super fans." YES... I was one of 30 people chosen. Do you know how awesome that is?! Darby and I packed up and headed to San Diego for the day to go to the Fandom Awards. Through 1iota, the 30 super fans got to film commercial breaks with MTV Host Josh Horowitz. You could see the commercials during the airing of the awards show! We had early access to all the rides, foods, and drinks before the huge crowds came in. How else did you think we got those awesome spots right next to the stage?! Wow, this is something I will never forget!! I had the best time!!
(13 photos in slideshow) The Soup Taping! So I'm super awesome and hooked up a few of the people in my group to go to a taping of The Soup on the E! Network. I have loved this show for years, and I was dying to get to see it all happen in person. You have to be invited to the show by an E! employee, so I found a way to pull a few strings and got a producer to get us in! It was hilarious seeing Joel in action. He is really funny and so easy to speak with. He stuck around and talked to us after the taping and was so generous with pictures. Jane Lynch was a guest on the show that night, and I wish she stayed for pictures! Nonetheless, I was exhausted this day. The day before was the MTV Fandom Awards. Darby and I got back home from there at almost 2 in the morning, had to go to work the following morning, and then leave straight from work to go to The Soup. It was completely worth it, though!

It's a small production, so nothing special. It was different, and I kind of enjoyed it. The director stuck around after our screening to speak with us. On Saturday night, the Grady LA group went to see a premiere of a movie together called 10,000 KM. The main girl in the movie was the girl who played Tonks in Harry Potter! It was cool seeing her in something different from what I'm used to. The ending sucked, so that explains the disappointed picture of the Grady LA group in front of the poster! The next day, Darby and I found a store that had a kitten adoption going on.... BIG mistake! We were there for an hour holding kittens. They were so adorable!! I wish I could've taken them all!!
(6 photos in slideshow) Yamashiro Hollywood! On Sunday night, we had a very important event at a really nice restaurant called Yamashiro Hollywood. It was beyond gorgeous. This was an important event because a lot of UGA Grady School graduates were there, and networking with them was important! I had business cards made so I could give out my contact information to these graduates. You never know who could hire you or help you out one day! UGA people will always help out one another, so I knew I needed to make a lot of connections with them. I definitely think I did. There was delicious food and drinks there, and I had a wonderful time seeing how many successful UGA people there were.
